2017 ONROAD VICTORIAN STATE TITLES
MARCH 18-19 BITTERN VICTORIA
The Victorian State Titles for EP Touring car were held at the newly surfaced South Eastern Radio Control Car Club track in Bittern, Victoria, on March 18-19 with our own Aussie Jessie Davis in attendance. A quiet difficult and challenging layout due to the huge curbs that punished any mistakes, the race marked Jessie’s second visit to the track with his Infinity ProtoTC making Friday’s practice important in finding a set-up for the medium level traction. Ending practice second fastest behind track designer Ryan Maker, Jessie continued to work on improving his car set-up. Claiming a P3 and P2 in the opening two qualifiers but feeling his car was tweaked, a new top deck for Q3 would produce a TQ run. Starting the finals from second on the grid, while A1 would see Jessie finish where he started he put Top Qualifier Maker under intense pressure in A2. Unfortunately small errors would end that challenge but winning A3 this would secure him second overall. Summing up his podium finish, Jessie said, ‘All and all it was a good weekend as I tested a lot on the new car and showed the car has good pace against good competition’.
