EFRA 1/8 BUGGY EP EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
VALLADOLID, SPAIN
7-9/06/2025

At the 2025 EFRA 1:8 E-Buggy European Championship, held at the Valladolid track in Spain, Bruno Coelho secured an excellent second place at the wheel of the IFB8 electric prototype, confirming himself as one of the standout performers of the weekend.

Despite the car still being in development and not yet fully understood—partly due to limited testing opportunities caused by poor weather earlier in the year—Coelho quickly found a solid feeling with the package. He won the opening qualifying round and remained consistently competitive throughout the event.

The track proved particularly tricky: fast, technical, and with very few—if any—real overtaking opportunities. This made the finals especially challenging, where every move had to be carefully considered and the chances to make a difference were minimal.

In the finals, Bruno made the most of the situations that came his way. In A1, he took the win after a collision between other front-runners. In A2, he closely followed Davide Ongaro for the entire race, putting pressure on him at various points, but never finding a clean opportunity to attempt a pass without taking unnecessary risks in such a tight and unforgiving layout. In A3, a small mistake at the end of the first lap prevented him from staying close enough to challenge Ongaro, effectively taking him out of the fight for the overall win. Nevertheless, second place was a very solid result.

This podium finish is further proof of the progress made so far and sets the stage for what could be a strong performance at the upcoming IFMAR 1:8 E-Buggy World Championship, which will take place in August in Portugal. On home soil and with a few more months of development ahead, all signs point to Coelho being one of the top contenders there as well. Well done, Bruno!

In 40+ Masters category Cristian Villar Sanchez secured second place after three hard-fought finals full of lead changes, consistently staying in the mix and battling for podium positions throughout. Well done Cris!
