Australian 1:8 Nationals 2025: Brisbane delivers sunshine, close racing and an unforgettable finale: The 2025 Australian 1:8 Nationals delivered an unforgettable weekend in Brisbane, where perfect weather and a strong turnout of drivers created the ideal atmosphere for top level racing. Spectators were treated to pure excitement from start to finish, culminating in a breathtaking A-Main that will be remembered for years.
From qualifying onward, Jesse set the pace with a dominant performance at the wheel of his INF1NITY, securing TQ and immediately pulling away at the start of the final. Everything seemed under control… until fate intervened. His unexpected retirement brought the race back to life, turning the final into a strategic showdown.
Luke Duthie opted for an all out approach, including a bold tire change, while Andrew Shapland chose a smooth, consistent rhythm, skipping the stop and relying on precision and pace. Both were also running the IF18-3 platform, which once again proved its competitiveness at the highest national level.
What followed was an incredible 45-minute duel that came down to the very last corner of the very last lap with Luke taking the victory by an infinitesimal margin over Andrew.
A weekend of pride and satisfaction for INF1NITY, with the IF18-3 fighting for the win all the way to the flag. Congratulations to all the drivers for an outstanding event and an unforgettable Australian Nationals!
