The 2026/27 Euro Touring Series season could not have started in a better way for our Team. At the opening round in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, reigning World Champion Bruno Coelho delivered a commanding performance to secure the overall victory with the SPEC1ALE IF14 package, once again proving the speed and competitiveness of both driver and car at the highest level of international competition.
Fresh from his wedding celebrations just a week earlier, Coelho immediately returned to business and set the pace throughout the event. His speed in qualifying earned him the overall TQ honors thanks to two TQ runs, securing pole position ahead of defending ETS Champion Michal Orlowski.
The finals provided plenty of excitement. After a small mistake on the opening lap of A1 allowed Orlowski to take the lead, Coelho recovered to finish third following a dramatic final-lap incident involving several front-runners. From that moment onward, however, there was no stopping the Portuguese driver.
In A2, Coelho delivered a flawless tone-to-flag victory, showcasing the exceptional balance, consistency, and outright speed of the IF14. He repeated the performance in A3, once again controlling the race from start to finish and leaving no opportunity for his rivals to challenge. Two dominant wins secured the overall event victory and marked the perfect start to the new ETS campaign for INF1NITY.
The result highlights the outstanding work carried out by the entire development team and confirms the IF14 as one of the benchmarks in the highly competitive Modified Touring Car category. Behind Coelho’s victory, the rest of Team INFINITY also produced several noteworthy performances throughout the weekend.
Jilles Groskamp demonstrated excellent pace and strong fighting spirit. After seeing his chances compromised by damage suffered in B1, he bounced back impressively to win the B Final and showcase speed worthy of a much higher overall result.
Viktor Wilck enjoyed a solid event and secured the third step of the Bmain podium after a series of intense battles in a highly competitive midfield group, once again proving his experience and racecraft.
In Pro Stock, Nico Catelani continued his positive progression by securing a well deserved place in the A Main. Consistently among the top ten during qualifying, Nico demonstrated excellent speed and competitiveness throughout the weekend. Unfortunately, a series of racing incidents and unavoidable contacts in the finals prevented him from converting his potential into a stronger finishing result, but his performance remains highly encouraging for the remainder of the season.
With the first victory of the 19th ETS season secured and several strong performances across the team, INFINITY leaves Apeldoorn with confidence and momentum heading into the next round.
