EFRA 1:10 ELECTRIC TOURING CAR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

A historic weekend in Luxembourg for INFINITY and Bruno Coelho. The reigning World Champion has conquered another EFRA 1:10 European Championship, delivering INFINITY its first ever European Championship victory in the 1:10 Touring Car EP category.
After dominating last month’s Warm Up Race at the Mini Circuit “Ville de Luxembourg”, Bruno continued his incredible form when it mattered most. The Portuguese driver opened qualifying with a TQ run on Friday and returned to the top in the fifth and final round, securing pole position for the European Championship final with his INFINITY Speciale IF14. Great job also by Viktor Wilck and Jilles Groskamp who both put their IF14 Speciale into the the Amain.
From pole, Bruno immediately showed his intentions. He controlled A1 from start to finish, taking the opening leg and putting himself firmly in control of the title fight. Then came the twist: as the drivers prepared for A2, an over-voltage battery was discovered during pre-tech, ruling Coelho out of the second final. Suddenly, the championship was wide open.
But Bruno remained focused. Everything would come down to A3.
With the title still within reach for several drivers, Coelho and his closest rival Simon broke away from the field in the opening laps. The two ran almost nose-to-tail for the majority of the final, setting up a dramatic finish. On the final lap, the pressure reached its peak and the battle went all the way to the line, with contact following a last gasp attack and Bruno crossing the finish line just a blink of an eye ahead.
For INFINITY, the victory represents the culmination of a remarkable European campaign of IF14 SPEC1ALE and the first 1:10 TC European Championship title in the company’s history. A new European title to add to the collection. Congratulations to Bruno and the entire INF1NITY team for an awesome job!
